Auction Mentor

Getting an auction mentor is a great way to get started learning

about antiques. This is a person you go into a partnership with

who knows all about antiques ,possibly an antique dealer.

This is easier than you might think. There are dealers that sell

in stores and dealers who sell online. Go talk to a few and see

if they would be interested in a proposition that would help you

learn and put money in their pocket.

You won't find many who will tell you they don't want more money!

First, the dealer allows you to go along with them when they are

out looking for antiques. Secondly, you go find what you think

are great buys, take photos (close up) and take them back to your

mentor. If the he/she needs to see it in person, take them to

the piece.

You Did It - You Found a Piece!

If your partner thinks the piece is authentic and the price

right, you go and buy it.

Now you can place it in the dealers shop or sell on eBay, or

whatever you choose.

Your agreement with your new partner should be a certain

percentage of the sale.

This is a win win situation for everyone.

Be sure and check out all the other kinds of auctions that can

put money in your pocket.

If you and your partner have never been to an auction you will

want to refer your auction mentor to auction basics.
